As a former newspaper publisher, radio talk-show host, and corporate
employment In 1989 Rev. Perryman brought together gang leaders from two rival gangs along with Washington State's most powerful Black leaders and politicians to negotiate a truce. That meeting led to the formation of Role Models Unlimited and a role model recruiting banquet that attracted over 2,000 black men from all walks of life. Banquet attendees included Grammy Award winners and a number of African American professional athletes from the NBA, NFL, and Major League Baseball. Several major news organizations covered the black tie event, including Sports Illustrated magazine. Other major cities across the country inquired and expressed an interest the program. In 1993, Rev. Perryman challenged major Christian publishers with his research book entitled, The 1993 Trial On The Curse of Ham. In his book, he proved that the publishers were wrong when they stated that, according to the Bible, the Black race was cursed. The curse theory was used to justify slavery, establish Jim Crow Laws, and promote racial discrimination. Perryman's book forced two major Christian publishers and the Encyclopedia Britannica to remove this false theology from their publications - a theory that had existed for over three hundred years. His book, Thought Provoking Bible Studies of the 90's highlighted the significant role that blacks played in Bible history, and his character building children's storybooks (featuring Ken Griffrey Jr. and ESPN host Harold Reynolds) were the first children's storybooks to be placed in the National Baseball Hall of Fame Library. As an Employment Relations Consultant, he has helped a number of persons who were victims of employment discrimination but could not afford an attorney. In 1995, Rev. Perryman took on a case involving over one hundred powerful shipping companies in the Pacific Northwest. After his extensive fact-finding investigation, the cases were finally settled and his clients walked away with over four million dollars. Perryman's past and present organization affiliations include the following: 1. Founder of Operation Destitution As a community activist, Rev. Perryman has received
commendations from members of the United States Congress, former Washington
State governor, Booth Gardner, and former Seattle mayor Charles Royer.
In addition to this recognition, Perryman's work with children, professional
athletes, gang members, and major corporations has resulted in local,
national and international media coverage, including Sports Illustrated,
Parade Magazine, Sports Illustrated For Kids, Seattle Times, Seattle P.I,
Ebony Magazine, Upscale Magazine, EM Magazine, Christianity Today, The
Personnel Administrator, ABC Home Show, TBN, The 700 Club, and Italy's
Speak Up Magazine. Rev. Perryman is a former recording artist, a former
radio talk show host, the author of several books and publications, the
father of four, Associate Minister of Mt. Calvary Christian Center Church
of God in Christ, and the owner of Consultants Confidential. |
